Bryan A. McKennaBryan A. McKenna

Bryan A. McKenna is an 18 year veteran of complex liability defense work. For more than a decade, Mr. McKenna specialized in the defense of tobacco companies from the broad range of claims asserted against the industry – ranging from wrongful death and product liability claims to allegations of health care fraud and the intentional mislabeling of their products. As a result of his submersion in fact finding and technical investigations in some of the most complex, eight-figure exposure, litigations which have ever been litigated in this Country, Mr. McKenna has developed a keen proficiency in working with technical experts to confirm that their trial testimony fits seamlessly with defense theories and that the same likewise corresponds with the intensive fact finding investigations which he spearheaded.

The experience of defending tobacco companies provided an outstanding foundation for Mr. McKenna’s current focus, defending various sectors of the aviation industry in a similarly broad range of claims, ranging from product liability, design and manufacturing-based claims to breach of contract and commercial cases. Due to the nature of the wrongful death and severe injury claims often asserted in aviation matters, the potential exposure is always large. Mr. McKenna’s work with technical experts in this arena has resulted in repeated favorable results for his clients. Mr. McKenna has managed cases from inception through verdict and appeal and has lead teams of attorneys, experts, paralegals and investigators.

In addition to his work in the aviation defense industry, Mr. McKenna regularly represents clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial disputes, including software, licensing, intellectual property issues, entertainment law, employment contracts, and product distribution.

In the public interest sector, Mr. McKenna has successfully defended elderly victims of predatory mortgage lenders in foreclosure actions, counseled victims of predatory real estate and lending practices, and has appeared before the New York City Committee on Aging in connection with the briefing paper entitled Identifying and Correcting the Financial Exploitation of Seniors.
